Sounds like you got a bum deal on your knee's man. It would suck to be that young, active and be nagged by injured body parts. Are there any exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles around the knee to avoid or at least pro-long another surgery?

I would take a year off of the martial arts and any intense physical activity. Try and give your knees time to recoupe and just focus on what the doctor said. A year might seem long but it will be gone before you know it. And if your interested you can get a bionic knee for around 30,000 these days. This would make you an actual cyborg and whats cooler than that?
