emergency brakes

apparently these are sort of misleadingly named. the emergency is NOT if you need to stop the car. apparently that lever is there in case you need to quickly make a burning brake smell inside the car.

A long time ago, I remember that at speed in my RX-2, a hard pull on the ebrake lever produced a barely perceptible drag. I remember being amazed riding in a friends car (might have been a VW Rabbit. That's right, not Golf, Rabbit) and he could actually lock up the rears using the ebrake. Wowzie! What fun!
