Effin A! Gosh Darn It!
[quote name='89 Rag' date='Jul 14 2005, 12:10 AM']It's not bad, but it is a little high, co-signer or by yourself? bank or credit union?
I wouldn't pay it off right away, it will help improve your credit score but get the interest rate lower, re-fi in 6 months through a credit union, make payments a week early, every month, mandatory, and pay more when you can. An 850 beacon is unheard of but it is possible to have 825 (which Bill Gates doesn't have) and this is part how you can do it. Then trade in/up in 3 to 4 years or a few months/few thousand miles before the warranty is up. Get a gas card at a local service station, pay that bill like clockwork too, it all helps to have great credit when you go to buy that first house.

Co-signed with my dad on the back end of the contract. I got the vehicle below invoice, but with the interest at 72 months, it is killer, but it's a monthly payment I can work with. I could not see paying 450 a month for 60 months on a Wrangler. I went the more expensive route later on down the road.
The loan is through Chrysler Financial actually. I obviously want to build credit later on in life. That is why I did a new car, with 0 miles, warranties and all, compared to buying an FD, blah blah. I will be building credit for a 28k loan. I think that would be a VERY good beacon score when this thing is paid off. Plus car insurance bills will help some, mortgage/rent(when I move out) is going to help too.
Other thing that sucks is my car note is on the 15th of every month(no payments due just yet), and I get paid on the 15th of every month! I know I can have the payment time changed though. I wonder if they would allow for it be pushed to the 22nd of every month? I noticed on every customer contract it is the 15th of every month.
But the monthly payment on the Wrangler is worth the 630 combined every month. I ain't driven the bitch in 5 days though.

I would have been pissed off about that deal, as weak as the auto market is, most companies offering the employee discount and 0 percent financing, I would have looked the saleman dead in the eye and told him to shove that deal straight up his ***, then told him to batton off and bring goldfingers out of the back office and talk to me directly. At 10.5% on the loan the below invoice price is irrelevant, the dealership was paid MSRP and you got stuck with the check and the tip, so to speak.
Not to be a ***** but, I would suggest getting out of that rig as soon as possible, 28K is way too much to throw at a rig just starting out. Scion, Saturn, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, etc. all offer great rigs at half the cost with comperable warranties. It might not be what you want now, but it will be way better for you in the long run.

[quote name='venomrx7' date='Jul 13 2005, 10:04 PM']there are much better and much safer ways.
Lets just say what you did is something I wouldn't do. Lets see who's got more dough in 10-15 years and then we can argue about what is right.

I'm not you and im sure your older and have a better job.

I'm 18. My job is mostly manual labor. I only make the money I do because I work 6 days a week, often 14 hour days.
only time I have EVER used a credit card to get something for my car was when I ordered some parts online. And I wouldn't have done it if I wouldn't have had the money to pay the bill at the end of the month.
if you pay at the end of the month, then there is no intrest whatsoever

everyone else just gets credit cards and builds thier cars, its worse then a loan because the interest is even higher

[quote name='94touring' date='Jul 14 2005, 04:38 PM']$750 a month on insurance? What did you do, run over a bunch of kids getting on a school bus? I pay $606 for a full year on the FD full coverage. **** my house mortage isn't even $750 a month.

you're getting RAPED. I paid less than that when I had my truck and my rx insured.
2003 Toyota tundra trd off road v8 (only way it would have been more expensive for insurance is if it was 4x4)
1990 Rx7 VERT... the vert part made it even higher.
and i was still paying less than that. I think its time that you shopped around for insurance...
