the gsl-se is the best rx7 mazda made, they run for 20years or 250,000miles whichever occurs first. they are faster than an fc, as they are lighter and geared slightly better. they also have fewer electrical problems. the 12a cars are decent, and the na fc's are good too

Good question. With a good exhaust figure what 20 25 hp extra? I honestly don't remember...
EDIT: say i buy an FC without an engine, or with an engine that doesnt run. What's the cost of a rebuilt or replacement including labor? There are two rotary specialists near me in new jersey. One in livingston and one in elizabeth.. heh i'm already looking for a mechanic and the chance of me owning an rx is slim.
ok guys I found out its going to be able 3-4k for a replacement because I cant do that myself. so I'm going to look for a good running rx for around 1000. I really like the first generation because they are so light and look so nice but I cant be picky with 1000. I just need a clean, well cared for rx and could care less about the color. if you guys know of any please let me know. Also, have any of you ever owned a 240sx? I'm also looking at s13 240sxs but they seem to cost more than rx7s. It looks like the rx7 is a better performing car, but the rotary engine is scaring people away and killing the price. Is the rx a better performing car than the 240sx? or are they about the same? I cant decide what to go with. I know alot about the 240sx, but if theres a better car (autocross) out there i'll try it.
if you guys can help me out looking for a nice rx7 around new jersey for about 1000 let me know (metalstick2986@aol.com), and i'll keep checking the nopiston.com classifieds section

judge ito is also in NJ.
you have a wide selection of great rotary mechanics to choose from on the east coast, and ito is probably the best.

Yup, the rotary engine is all about breathing, hence one of the biggest improvements being porting.
