First off, both motors are 6-port 13bs. The difference is the one in the car (84 GSL-SE) now is the original motor w/ 215k miles and the other is from an 88 GXL w/ 100k miles. The car is running a holley 600cfm w/ RB Header, Presilencer and custom from there on. The 5th and 6th ports are always open as well...

Basically, what I wanna know is one motor going to allow for more porting than the other? And how much can I take off either? The car is going to stay N/A. I just want the car to have a nice little surprise (port job) for the ricers.

Right now, the 200k motor runs strong, but could use some freshening up. The 100k motor ran fine, but hasn't ran in a month or so.

Also, is there somewhere I can get a good template for porting a 6-port or am I on my own on this one?

That's all I can think of now.

Thanks!

Marc

Do the one that's not currently in the car.

This way you can take your time and if something goes wrong you have plenty of time to work it out. PLus there's no down time this way You always have a running car to (play with) sorry I mean get around in.

P.S. try get the Aux ports working and try it out with them in place. You appreciate the added low end power your probably lacking now.

I haven't got the car yet... I get it today. The motor shipped today too. I'm just planning ahead.

I agree about the no down-time and that's my gameplan so far.

I'll see what I can do w/ the 5th & 6th ports, but for simplicities sake, will probably take'em out (not a guarantee though)

I used a set of housings from a Junk S4 motor to PRACTICE porting first.

every single housing in this S4 motor was junk, which made them perfect candidates for porting practice.
