Ok so today I have a problem. I turned on my computer and I am missing all the icons from my desktop, and the startbar/tool bar deal at the bottom is gone too. Also all the programs that would usually run on startup like AIM don't. WTF???

restart.
if that doesn't work, system restore to a previous date.
if that doesn't work, boot to os disk and let it run diagnostics.
if none of the above work, backup what you can... reformat/reinstall.
if you think its a virus i recommend debugging/fdisk/reinstall
