Here's one for you computer gurus



i have a AMD athlon xp 2200 on a Abit KX-7 333 MB with OCZ 3200 DDR Ram i want to take my FSB to 333 how do i do that?



Also how can i over clock / even setup my memory so it uses it speed?



If you have any other tips please let me know.

 

if your going to o/c anything you need to upgrade the cooling, amd's are known for killer heat.

 

same ram sinks for the ram and vid ram isnt a bad idea either. Keep in mind when u up the FSB it also up's the PCI and AGP buses which may cause stability issues.

 

blah, i overclocked my old pentium 2, and used penut butter as a heatsink. Man, that computer smelled good

 

haha, my buddy had a heatsink for his P2 made out of two amd k6's, didnt work too well but it was really funny to see

 

But it didnt smell like roasting nuts

 

i have heat sinks on the ram and a volcano 7 fan at 7,500 RPM with that liqued silver conductor **** so my cooling temps are no prob.

 

As far as making it possible, you first have to "unlock" your cpu in order to change the front side bus speed, then you go into the bios setting and change FSB, multiplier and memory settings. I'm sure that you're aware of this, but you're going to void your warranty and possibly cause some damage to your stuff or even yourself... if you screw up your stuff, don't blame me

just member, superglue isnt good for attaching heatsinks, i learned the hard way. When the glue heats up the fumes eat at the chip LOL
