A Turbo Dodge Spirit is also an odd car but again, a lack of support leaves it pretty much stock, so the only thing it could beat would be some Honda boys.
Bullshit to that. Any Dodge turbo has a cult following, from the van to the Omni with the Spirit and Shelby Charger in the middle. There's a red Spirit R/T in NY that stomped the 12 second Grand National that stomped me, so I think it's a little better than you give it credit for.

I do not count 12 second passes as awesome sleepers. Considering that there are lots of 10 sec. daily driven Galant VR4's out there. Just because a car has a cult following does not mean that it has successful aftermarket support. They are almost custom built cars. The Galant utilizes the 4G63 engine and has every aftermarket part imaginable already designed for it from big companies such as HKS, Trust, Crower, JE, etc.... so they can be built very easily into unbeatable sleepers.

The car that it walked was a low 12 second car, so it was in the 11s easily. The bullshit was to the only beating Hondas part anyway. I highly doubt that there are "lots" of 10 second Galants out there anyway, unless 1/2 of the remaining VR4s run 10s and spend 360 days a year in the garage.

I know of at least 4 around here so I assume there are lots more. I have lost to 2 of them in a race so I saw there times, the other two were talked about by one of the guys I was racing so I assume he is not lying. The fastest Dodge Turbo I have seen with my own eyes ran a 12.2 at KCIR in Kansas City. The two Galant VR4's that run 10's are both from STL and there is supposed to some other ones in the Springfield and Joplin, MO area. There are two Galant VR4's in Columbia where I live that run high 11's and low 12's respectively so I am sure they outnumber the amount of Dodge Turbos. A 4 door car that runs 10's on the street due to AWD is almost unbeatable for street racing aas well.

The Honda thing may be an exageration but I was just saying that there are not many of them that will run with a V8.

Well, I know of a lot of Dodge turbos that run 12s or faster....it all depends on where you live. If you live in a town with a million people and it has 2 10 second Yugos, don't assume that there are 12,000 of them in the world.

You live in Ames,IA with a population of 45,xxx people. I used to live there when I went to ISU. I used to own a GSX and was active on most of the DSM boards so I know that the VR4 is pretty popular all over the place and there are numerous 10 sec. VR4 out there. From Tampa to San Diego there are probably a good 70 or more low 11 to 10 second VR4's. And for a car with such a short production run and a limited number of cars made, tehy have an awesome percentage out there that are fast. They only produced like 10,000 cars over the 4 years they were made.

Actually, I was referring to the cars in Syracuse, NY. I don't know too much about what's out here, other than the riced out junk.
