Yeah you lose sucker.
Carburators are still used in racing applications, variations of these carbs are actually used in conjunction with engine management to produce superior horsepower numbers and the ability of modifying the fuel delivery system ITSELF instead of only controlling the pressure of the fuel. These systems are then more viable for such an application! Reliability is also another issue, carbs ARE reliability bar none.

carbs do have some advantages, but efi is nice bacuase when you turn it doesnt hesitate/bog/flood like carbs do, that right there is why efi is better.

Efi is clean and simple. Carbs are better for tuning, but take some tweaking to get just right. When cold, at least in my pickup, I have to use choke to get it started. But once its warmed up it runs just as good as Efi.

from a tuning standpoint, you can do just about anything with carbs or efi, however efi makes it generally alot easier.

however efi is expensive as ****, can break down on u in the middle of nowhere and omgorz what are ya to do? carb is alot easier to fix when it breaks. and things will break, using either efi or carb.

i chose carb, because its alot cheaper..

the only professional type racing i can think of that uses carbs is the NHRA, and thats because its a rule that it must be used.
