I'm saying I want a nice medium range semi auto rifle with decent ammo capacity for whatever purpose I choose. If you don't like it then stay the **** out of my thread. This WILL NOT turn into an anti gun thread.
in case that wa sslightly pointed at me, i have like 30-40 guns in my house and hunt just about everything, since i was old enough to shoot a gun i have been.
I just think the wording in your post is a little, ermm "bad choice"
you want a high-powered, long distance rifle, with high powered optics to shoot at "people sized targets"
i mean you couldve said "deer sized" or a million other things. but you said people.
just a poor choice in wording is all.
and chill, with a temper like that and you getting a rifle like that its not a good combination.

I respectfully completely disagree. At 300meters a person sized target is pretty tiny with open sights. At 500m a person sized target is going to be basically indistiguishable.
Also, an optic at high ranges will help you decipher winds, mirages, and air temperature. All of which are serious factors at long range shooting.
marine corps teaches you to fire at a target at a distance of 500 METERS, with no scope and people hit it just fine, if he is thinking of going into competition thats a different story I suppose. But it is more then doable considering the USMC's rifles arent anywhere near as accurate as a DCM match

It wasn't directed at anyone in general. I'm just tired of people jumping into gun threads and talking all kind of anti gun ****, and joking or not people already started. Theres honestly no temper here. I just couldn't give a **** if certain people think guns are bad, Its my money and I'll buy whatever the hell I want.
As for the people sized target comment, it was just an easy word to use. Stop being so sensitive.

I know you Marines are taught to believe that you are the best shooters on earth, and after competing against a few Marine snipers its hard for me to disagree. But c'mon, you're average shooter cant knock down an E-type silloutte at 300m, much less 500m with open sights. I regulary shoot at distances in excess of 800m with the M24SWS. But, even at 500m with a precision .308 its not just point and shoot. I think you are forgetting that 500m is a pretty damn good distance away.

I have a DPMS Lower, Bushmaster 16" HBAR A2 upper, M4 feedramp cuts. Hogue grip. Shooting crap wolf ammo with iron sights I can group 3" at 300 yards. I could never do that with my AK. I just put the scope on it a few days ago so I haven't tried it yet.
