Here's my advice as a supervisor: I took over a management position a few months ago. The ppl I supervise have had some serious issues, I fixed that (for the most part) by showing them the right way and leading by example, that's the best way. Now if that doesn't work out FIRE him! Old ppl are tough, everyone that works for me is almost twice my age!

My way of dealing with these situations is this:
I always try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they just don't know any better, or simply haven't noticed. Make your case, explain how and why you want things changed. Wait for results, if you don't see any. . .then they've made the decision for you. You tried personal attention, if it fails. . now it's just business. |
