they say most of the weight is in the tranny, and the rb itself weighs 40lbs more than the ka. of course i havent weighed it myself so who knows.

Pricey to actually do the RB25 swap? Its around 7K altogether including McKinney Motorsports has a kit for motor mounts made for the swap.. its something around 120 lbs more than the SR but SR20's can only get to a certain streetable point if thats your ideal car.. RB25s can pound out 500 on stock internals... Run 350 whp on the streets reliably, and considering the size of a 240.. use your imagination.. Crank the boost for race night and still be a reliable performer. I'll add 120 lbs for reliability

the funny thing about everyone wanting to do rb swaps is no one really knows much about these motors here in the US. if something goes wrong with it, you're pretty much outta luck. you better have a bank roll to support an exotic motor, the rb series are no where close to as durable as a 2JZ. seems alot of people are more about getting the next best thing rather than going for an engine thats more reasonable. i myself would rather get into a project that someone could help me with rather than be on my own, just my .02

Heheheh.. thats funny.. Because last I checked RB motors have the potential to rev out past 10K.. 2JZs have trouble spinning to 9 without serious issues. That and theres this little fact.. RB > 2JZ.. But don't get me wrong, they're both outstanding engines in their own respect the the RB has always just edged it out

my rx7 stays rotary. but if i had another 240 ide probably well im not sure what ide do yet but ill probably own another 240 as a DD or something. my friends 240 with sr20 13psi like hks step 2 or 3 cams, safc and some other stuff was just as fast as my tII.

back in the days when nissan was mass producing these cars motors like the VG and the RB shared alot of simlarities. same with alot of motors they produce/produced. the support for rb's, sr's is all having a greater US aftermarket for all parts which is great.

i dont know where im going with any of this. so yeah. end.

You guys seem to know a lot about nissans, so I'll ask here. Do you think a '92 Maxima is worth modding? It's going to be my grocery getter/kid carrier, but I thought it'd be cool to get groceries and carry kids much faster.

Since when? I don't read much about problems spinning to 9k...let alone 10k (TRD Tach,..woot!)...shouldn't be a problem when it can handle 800hp+ on stock block...
