A red dot is also a dead (ha!) giveaway to where you are pointing your weapon and can alert the enemy.

Are you serious? You watch to much ******* tv, you don't really think in a moment of panic and adrenaline that a guy is standing there talking to his buddy and says "there's a red dot on your forehead" I aint hunting people here mother ****** I'm protecting myself, I'd be very happy if the guy noticed a red dot on his head and ran away, then I wouldnt have to shoot him or try to explain anything to the cops.

I have an aimpoint on my m4, I'm thinking about building a sniper outfit, either .223 on the ar chassis or .308 on the ar chassis.
