Hey, I currently own two rx-7s , And I have another car here for my younger brother to learn how to drive on, its a Plymouth laser.

Today we pulled out the old AC compressor to put in a new one. The only way this Compressor could come out is if you removed the distributor, it couldnt be removed from underneath the car or anyway else because the axel and rack and pinion are in the way and also the frame. So our only option to get this out was to remove the distributor and once that was done everything went back in and together, I went to fire up the car and i got nothing , it wouldnt start. I removed the distributor with the spark plug leads still attached so i wouldnt forget the firing order and i marked it with a white line when removing it so i would line it back up with the line and everyhting should of been good. But the car just keeps cranking but wont start.

Anybody have any idead on what the problem maybe.

You need to reset the distributor, the gear has more than likely moved on the unit when you laid it down. You are going to need a diagram / manual for this. You will have to set the engine to top dead center, (using the book for replacing the timing belt diagram to ensure you have the cams and crank in the TDC position) next you will have to remove the cap of the distributor and point the rotor (pointy arrow) in the distributor to the #1 spark plug wire position on the distributor cap. Now this is where it gets tricky and possibly where you had your problem. when the distributor drive gear meshes with the cam drive it will spin slightly as the teeth engage, which will cause the rotor to move off the #1 position. judging by eye you need to move the rotor backwards the same amount of movement (possibly engageing a different tooth on the dist drive gear) to get the rotor in the correct #1 position. sounds a lot harder than it acctually is, but I can almost garuntee this is your problem.

All the DSM's got built in the same building, and the only thing different on them is the body panels and the badging.
