My Dad is looking to purchase a tractor for his property. There is a guy around the corner from him selling a Massey Ferguson Model 205 Diesel tractor with front end loader.

Anyone know anything about these tractors? Quality, how much they usually sell for. I don't know the year of this tractor or any more information than what I have told you.

Just trying to get a general idea.

I saw a used one for sale from the Massey Ferguson website and they wanted $3750.00 for it.

Just thought I would ask.

Thanks.

You need to evaluate your needs for the tractor. Are you wanting a Front End Loader (FEL) if you do a 2WD tractor is not going to cut it, If you want to bushhog a 2WD will work.

In the compact tractor market you need to be very weery od used tractors. They fall into 2 categories:

1. Someones yard tractor, usually low hours ans well cared for. VERY HARD TO FIND

2. Landscaping company old equipment, rode hard but away wet and costing the owner too much to maintain. Unfortunately these are the tractors for sale 90% of the time.

With the financing the dealers are offfering, it is cheeper in the long run to decide your needs and purchase new.

Thanks for the info so far.

Banzai....Is what you are saying that this particular tractor is 2WD? My Dad wants both things, the FEL and brushhog so he really needs 4WD then.

This is a tractor that was owned not by a company but a neighbor in their area. he had about 4 acres of land that he used it on. My Dad has 15 acres of land that he will be using it on.

That sounds really redneck.. Heeyuck my tractor will pull 20000 pounds 20 feet further than yours... Bust a wheely on a tractor, I'm sure farmer Jed will raise his eyebrow at that one
