yeah it probly will icrease the value of my car though because my brother bought it for $900 it was a complete piece of **** inside.. and under the hood with a nearly blown 1.3b and a slipping clutch..

i see rx-7's in the news paper forsale for under a grand almost every day around here i only wish people would realize what a valueable car they are selling.. mine has no rust or body damage anywhere so i decided to build a drag car out of it..

as far as racing a turbo rotary bring it on baby(;

when i get my car done i will be more than willing to share my tire smoke...

with the easy 50/50 balancing i will do.. i will even let you pick the track..

just remember my 7 is heavily moded...

remember this......Its 50/50 with a rotary engine.Not a heavywieght V8.Yeah a 545hp LT1 would move but so would a 545hp FD engine.Except rotary would be lighter. :yum:

Then you never rode in a modded one then? They can go just as good. With the right tuning. The domestic iron only has a torque advantage.

you wanna bet..

the v-8 conversion only adds 200 lbs. and the car had more than that stripped out of itso if any thing it was lighter in the front than a stock 7...

i feel sorry for thoose who don't belive me..

as far as a moded rotary they may be fast but given the same amount of money and time mine would be faster because a v-8 is much cheaper and easier to build up..

A Chevy V8 weighs 500-550 the Rotary is about 280. This will be like having a fat chick riding around on your hood..

I don't think the idea is a bad one, but I wouldn't compare it to a RX7, because I don't think that is a fair one.

You will have more low power and much more torque, but without a way to put to to the ground (wheel tubs & slicks?) You have more tendancy to break the tires loose. (V-8 Vega syndrome).

Now if you could get a transfer case, Mazda 4x4 front spindles... you might have something here.

no i have 12" slicks on mine and as far as the weight goes the rotary only weighs 265lbs trust me i weighed mine.. but all the components to run the rotary weigh much more.. the cats. are all cast iron and all the engine managment **** that i will not have all add up fast.. the v-8 conversion only adds 200 pounds and that is if it is stock..

my engine has alluminum heads and intake manifold..

i have done the math and with my car i will only have a 50lbs difference...

which i fixed by adding 50 lbs of lead to the rear of the car..

So this was pretty much a month ago and you had on 12" slicks.....if you had on slicks a month ago I think its a good assumption that you've been to the drag strip. So share with us your results so I can compare your V8 powered 7's mph to mine. I just want to see if its true that you can beat any rotary.....well, its not a big deal cause I already know its not true.

And yea, so its going to be the same weight after you strip it down.....you can strip the same stuff out with the rotary as well and we are back to it being lighter.

Anyway, if the V8 is what you want then go for it but dont think that its better. Well if might be if you dont have the knowledge to tune a high tech car. Its ashame you just didnt spend on that V8 swap time on learning how to tune instead.
