Is it actually twin turbo or did someone just paint that on there? I don't believe any re's came with twins, only the rew out of the fd. Even then, the intake manifold is very plain and doesn't have any writing cast or cut out of it.

the RE is from the cosmo, the REW is from the third gen. there is many many diferances with the 2 engines. intake port runners in both the manifold and intake port openings on the RE are much larger then the FD primary ports but the FD secondary ports runers in the manifold are the same size as the RE. the intake port timing is differnt being the FD has a better port timing for high end hp where the RE was built for mid range and some more tq. the Exhaust ports in the RE had D shaped sleeves in them wich directed exhaust flow away from a direct shot to the turbine wheels to promote more low end tq BUT both have the same port timing and material coatings. the RE had a weak rear iron around the upper dowel pin, very thin casting there and are prone to crack when making alot of HP or higher RPM. there are also other differances but the ones listed are the major ones. oh ya the RE throttle body has smaller secondary buterflys then the REW however the RE can be bored and the REW plates can be used. did it to mine

Forgot about the twin turbo re in the cosmo. I'm guessing the fd twins won't bolt up to the re block because of the different shaped exhaust ports?
