I am in the opening stages of buying a 1987 RX7 (the guy says its an SE). I know the motor will need to be replaced. I haven't gone out to look at the car yet but as long as I can find a decent motor/tranny for a good price I might just buy it.



What is the original engine code for this car and what engine do you guys recommend? I'd put another original engine in there but if I'm gona be doing some engine swapping I might as well look at doing a turbo swap. What should I plan on paying for all the parts needed for a swap?



How do you rate engine swap for this car in comparison to Honda B-series and Nissan SR20 swaps?
