I beleive the best way to go about it would be to use both the engine and tranny. Get the complete wiring harness and splice onto the FC. Remember its a completely different ECU that pretty much controls the entire car. It will have to have direct connection from the ECU to the ABS wheel sensors. I have heard of some people tacking a shot at cracking the ECU but not many success stories. Try to get a hold of the wiring diagrams for both and start with electrical research first. Once you can find the connections the fabrication to mount it will be easy. Keep us posted and good luck.

From one service member to another... if you build it they will drool. Period.

wait a sec people are swapping in the 13b from the 3rd gens in there rx8's for real power?? im not too knowledgeable in this area but I thought the renesis was a way better motor than the 13b's from the 3rd gens?? or at least that was what i figured due to darn near 5-7 years worth of R&D, lol it makes me feel good about my motors now as if i didnt already feel good about them!

Stock computers in 8s are strict as hell. There's been some considerable power gained from a turbo+new ecu, but nothing compared to what's able to be done with a 13b-REW. This is mostly due to the fact that the REWs have been out since 93, and RENESIS since 03/04. I imagine with more R&D done by people trying to mod the cars, more power will be gained as the engine is explored and understood more.

Here's an idea.....Renesis Irons, Renesis Rotorhousings, S4 turbo internals, stainless turbo manifold, GT35R, Aluminum intake manifold, 4in throttle body......and Haltech E8.............. Take that home...Chew it. It's delicious.
