I was reading the forums and did research on four engines 13b-t 200hp (TII), 13b-tt 255hp(93-95) or JDM 13b-rew 280hp and 20b 320hp (Cosmo)

I want to do an engine swap on my 90 RX-7 and wanted advice on which one is the best. I want 300-350hp at the least possiable cost and with the most reliablity.

((Note: I only want to spend $5000 or less to get the 300-350hp))

The engines cost

13b-t $1500

13b-tt $2700

13b-rew $3300

20b $4000

The 20b is the most expensive to swap but also yields the best results. I was thinking of going with the 13b-rew as the best engine if I can find one or at least going with the 13b-tt.

Is a single turbo better? I know it can handle more boost but don't you also get more lag were as with a twin turbo the second one doesn't spool up until the is in the higher rpms.

Modest goal. For my money id go with 89-90 13b t . Rebuild with mild port job . T04 b or 60-1 or 62-1 turbo external wastegate , 3" exhaust, Haltech or microtech ecu and front mount cooler. Should be good for hp target.

I forgot to include labor for installing the engines which is about $1000. And all the part you suggested will be about $4000+$1500 for engine+$1000 for install bring the total to $6500 and I would proably get about 260-280hp with the performance mods. I only want to put $5000 or less into my car and still gain the best results.

Thank you for your reply

The 20B needs alot of fabrication to make it fit

It's a whole lot bigger than the other 13bs

Custom pretty much everything...

Installation expense will go through the roof..
