Auto engine manual engine

Can I put the same year automatic engine in my 5 speed?

I have an 87

Yes, it will work, but you'll need to put your flywheel on the motor, as well as a pilot bearing. You should use your intake manifolds.

I think that there may be some extra stuff on the intake manifold because of the A/T. I know that that's the case for 3rd gen's. You should compare them just to be safe.

YES YES.



just swap out the upper intake like 13bace said.



The only differences is that thre is an extra spring on the throttle body linkage, the hook up for the dip stick for the auto tranny fluid. and vacumm nipple used by the tranny.



Just have to take the flex plate out and the counterweight unless you plan to use a lightflywheel you can keep the counterweight attached. If you can, change the rear oil seal and install a new pilot bearing.
