the only good thing about this swap is.......reliability other than that ur car ill not be fast as if you had a 800hp rotary. the only good thing is the supra transmission they hold wayyyy more power than the rx7 ur better off going with a 3 rotor turbo, and for rotary reliability if u cant maintain one you shouldn't drive it

I've got a 1998 Supra with a 2JZ TT Engine (And Transmission) straight from a crate - it puts out about 640 RWHP. Its an insanely fast car, will do 200MPH fairly quickly, but it doesnt handle like a 7 at all. 7 is way better but that Inline 6 Screams up close to 9,500RPM. With that much power though, you can't just drop it in and go. You have to modify the chassis to take that much of a blow. I mean we could feel the car kinda bend and things breaking when we first drove it. We had to do alot of stiffening, but in the end it was awesome - the only complaint I have, the suspension is as stiff as a **** AND the instructions came in Japanese.

IMO supras dyno with inflated #s, high rpms also inflate dyno #s.

Peak hp is deceptive, Avg hp is more like it. 600hp at 9k rpm sucks if you make 250hp at 5k rpm.

It seems to take more power for a supra to run with other cars in anything timed.

you could run 9 second 1/4s on pump gas with a v8 (a modern fuel injected 20mpg v8).

STOCK turbo II rears have taken 9 second blasts, on head cam + n20 Ls1 cars.

if you really want a MONSTER swap, you can get a 03 cobra motor ($$$)..you should run low 11s stock with any traction.

for a race application...t88. at 12psi you will have 750hp. also don't forget...a 3500pound 03 cobra gets better milage than a 2.0l Subaru WRX sTI.

Supra's are too expensive? Bwahahahahaha... What you just said is the most redundant statement I've ever heard.

The money you're going to have to spend to do this swap RIGHT, is going to blow away the cost of a new Supra w/ mods or just hooking up your 7 to to over 500whp. Sure, you can resort to just swapping the motor, but good luck with all the other expenses the "ghetto" swap is going to cost you. I've seen 450whp RX7's that run with 800whp Supra's, in the 1/4, all day long. Not to mention, a 450whp RX7 will rape an 800whp Supra in the autocross.

What you want to do is absurd. It's completely uneconomical. You say you're trying to get big numbers but you can get the same result for a LOT less money. Sure it's rare, but I guarantee you'll regret doing this a few months after it's been completed.

Worst idea I've ever heard!

I seriously wouldn't even think about that! Although if you do want to do it, you can use my supra7 shell/parts we made for it. Come drag it out of my gaurage! I need that space for my vert! The tranny blew up, and my 13BT is on the way!

Although if you used my piece you would have to use a 7M-GTE, 1G-GTE, or 1JZ-GTE (could use the GE series of the 7M/1JZ, but that would be incredibly retarded.)
