Ok....

let me ask you this. Are you going to put 100k on a 500 rwhp fd?

No i dont have 500 rwhp. A 20b with a large turbo (t66) would make 500 easily on lower boost levels. Look at pettit's Banzai.

I just have beef with you (eip) because you dont even have the car yet...and are blabbing all over the internet how rotarys suck, and you want a 500 rwhp "beater". this is exactly how you make it sound! IF you want 500 rwhp and decent reliability, go get a damn supra. Dont cut up a perfectly good FD because you read somewhere on the internet that they can have trouble. As long as you take every precaution...you could make the power and still have the "reliability" factor.

Look at all the people with high powered FD's on the forum. They all have beaters. I dont see any reason why you would put that much time and money into the car, just to beat on it all the time.

Yeah, ther you go!!!

Only one problem, it weighs another 1000 FREAKIN POUNDS!!!

Why do you really care if anyone cuts an FD up, just look at it this, it makes your car that much more rare.

Good Point on both quotes.

It just makes me sad that the best (imo ) sports car to come out of japan gets hacked up for a piston engine. The cars are already rare, and have a distinct aura about them. I feel that changing the heart of that car would diminish that.

I have no beef with guys swapping in FC's. You see FC's all the time, and its cool to have something a little different.

OK, if someone hacked up an R100 and didn't put a rotary back in it, THEN I would be pissed. But a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen really wouldn't faze me as long as it was faster, and better than stock in at least 1-2 ways.

I just wisk someone would make like a 6 liter rotary

Cool! Keep us updated. It's neat seeing ingenuity at all it's levels, whether it be V8 or turbo 6.

I have always thought that if you just had to swap a piston engine into an RX-7 (like if the world supply of apex seals was exhausted ), the engine of choice would be the WRX STi engine, I don't follow Subaru that much so I don't remember the code (thereby losing me cool points - ouch) - but that is a really short engine with a low centre of gravity, and a lot of power potential. As a bonus, it also has a unique sound.
