I understand what you mean about the trucks being 10k etc. But I'm buying a used truck that I know nothing about. Also, if I want to stay with Mazda thier new trucks are Fords. If I'm going to dump money in a vehicle why not spend that money to customize and rebuild the one I have rather than buy a newer one, rebuild it and then customize it. (my line of thinking anyway and yes I guess I'm kind of attached to my truck after 16 years.)

Yeah the main thing I'd do is overbuild. Oil, water, etc. Making sure I had plenty of cooling

Again thanks for all your help I really appreciate it. I'll look into the build section and learn what I can.

Ok.........so what your telling me is that a T2 bellhousing will bolt onto a Mazda B2600 4X4 tranny? Making it a 13B ready 4x4 tranny?

This intrestes me alot! Hmmmm

Yes, the TII, B2600, and FD all share the same basic transmission. Parts are interchangable, but bellhousings, tailhousings, and the gear ratios are different between them. Not to mention the 4wd B2600 has a tailhousing to accept the transfer case.

some good info here.

only gotcha is that the b2600 tranny is tilted to the side, and the t2 trans isnt. either you can shim the mount, or tilt the motor about 20 degrees
