JUST DONT WATCH MONSTER GARAGE OR TAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM JESSE JAMES FOR SUGGESTIONS ON MAKING OFF-ROAD ROTARIES...

they have a tendency to turn to swiss cheese with over 10,000+ bullet holes

now my next problem. i need to find a print or drawing on the bolt pattern for the tranny end of the rotary bell housing. i need to have an adapter built to connect to my t-90 trans. any ideas where i can find one?

The bell housing is less of a problem, then the input shaft of the tranny, because if it is to small for the rotary's pilot bearing, then I don't know what you would do. But if if is bigger you could have it turned down, although that would require taking the tranny apart.

Or will it fit snugly into the pilot bearing???

Actually, there are plenty of off roading rotaries out there. The Sami guys love'em.

A quick Google search:

I'm sure you could find more.

As far as the trans adaptor, perhaps these guys could help you out.

I've never looked under a ****** but if it has a divorced transfer you could use a mazda trans and then make your own short driveshaft to it.

since this will be a custom job anyway you could always swap the transfer out of a suzuki samari also

you could always use a dana 300 transfer. they have the ability to use 2 hi and low, and 4 hi and low, just like your stock trannsfer and it is a divorced type tranfer. I have a 47 ******* that i've thought about doing that to some day after college.

the prob with a dana 300 is that the rear drive output is for a centered differential. both the differentials on the ****** are on the passenger side. this makes for extreme driveline angles on the rear driveshaft. i guess if i swap in a new rear axle i could do it.

I know this is an ancient thread but….. I have done what the Original poster was talking about and it’s awesome! I put an S5 13b in my ww2 army jeep and it rips. I’ve put over 3000 miles on it. I’ve rock crawled… done road trips and daily driven it. Rotaries are actually really good for Jeeps if you make the right gearing mods. i documented everything and have lots of videos and pictures if you guys want to see more.
