i am new to nopistons and have been searching around for info on installing a rotary in my 1949 willys jeep. my old flathead 4 cyl. is getting tired and i thought what cooler swap than a rotary. i am having problems finding info on the torque curves of a rotary. any help?

what torque curve more like it.

as cool as it would be to see a willy with a 13b it doesnt sound like it would work well for offroading. with low torque outputs rock crawling sounds like a challenge.... i could be wrong though.

sounds like a cool project and hopefully someone here can help you out

well my old flathead has about 69 horses and about 70 ft lbs of torque and it crawls well. its all about low gears to bring the torque up. i think a rotary should be able to match or exceed those numbers dont you think?

It would definitely be unique. I think it would be fun out on the sand dunes or in the mud.

yeah you can do better than that definitely.

that should be pretty sweet once you get it going.

now my next problem. i need to find a print or drawing on the bolt pattern for the tranny end of the rotary bell housing. i need to have an adapter built to connect to my t-90 trans. any ideas where i can find one?

You could probably just go to a local junkyard and get a bell housing. depending on your location, you might find lots or rx7's at the junkyard..

the rotary has a pretty flat tork curve, the 86-88 non turbos have 146hp@6500 and 133lbsft@4000? of tork
