The O2 sensor isnt really that important, I am pretty sure the Power FC can be set to run in open-loop mode where it completely ignores the O2 sensor.

Of course without the O2 you can expect gas milage to go down... but at any rate, it isnt as important as getting an air pump to your cat so it doesnt plug up.

Yeah. As tom said, your main cat will clog if you run it without the airpump.

make sure you get a midpipe, otherwise your car will get progressivly slower than stock.... or make your cat functional.

Thanks guys. I didn't know about the cats clogging up. I think the air pump was removed in order to return a little horsepower to the engine. It has a pulley underdrive kit installed and does not have enough belt to run the air pump. Should I remove the pulley kit in order to put the air pump back in? Is there a way to included the air pump pulley in loop without removing the underdrive kit?

I don't know the manufacturer of the underdrive kit.

Tom,

Not really. They don't probe the tail pipe to get emissions stats. However, if there is factory installed emissions equipment for the vehicle, it must me present and functional. I had to try to get the car inspected a couple of times.

Ok, so you need to install the factory air pump and cats right?

I would GUESS that you could do that and keep the underdrive kit. You'll just have to find the proper length belt.

It's a shame you have to keep the factory emissions.

for some reason my car passed nc emittions right before i got it, and thankfully i havnt gotten any notices here in il. im taking all emitions stuff out of my car. (i have NO clue what a stock pulley setup looks like anymore) actually i dont even remember what the airpump looks like on rx7's...

just buy a larger than stock belt and adjust it by the alternator is it is too short/ long.
