Hey,
Just got an Apexi Power FC and Commander unit for my 93 RX-7 R1. I may have a problem in that my O2 sensor has been permanently disconnected (wire cut) from the car. I am assuming that the Power FC is going to need to get readings from the sensor to configure itself properly (mixture settings). Is this a correct assumption? If so, what can I do about it? I don’t think there is enough wire left on the sensor to splice. Where is a good place to buy a new one? Why might this have been done? It was like this when I got the car. I can think of a much cheaper way to plug a hole in a cat if the sensor wasn’t desired. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx, Kamikaze |

BTW, one post in one area will usaully garner a reply. Tom |
Yes I know. This was a mistake. I responed to you in the gneral discussion forum also.

Yes, and the DP will have a bung hole.

Sooooo, anyways.
Does your car have a Down Pipe or Mid Pipe?? Or is ya runnin' the stock cats??? Tom |
It is stock from the exhaust manifold to the end of the 3rd stage cat. I have a Racing Beat cat back exhaust. However, the Air pump has been removed and the air feeder pipe that feeds air into the exhaust system (2nd stage cat?) has been removed also.
I realize that I have some work to do here. But there was quite a bit done when I got the car. I just hope the work was done properly. I am guessing/hoping it was. |

Thanx Tom,
I have been looking at a couple of downpipes as possible options. Crap - I have been looking at a couple of everything as possible options. First things first though. Sounds like I really need to get that Oxygen sensor to make any use of my PFC (have a fair bit of money tied up in this already). Just realized last night after looking at the manual that the car only has a first stage cat and a main cat. I was thinking there was three for some reason. And yes, I am having a difficult time figuring out what has moved around the engine bay and such, even though I have a list of the mods applied to the car. Qute difficult if you haven't seen under the hood of a stock 3rd gen. This is covered over several hundred pages of manual. Going to take some time. Does anyone know if the O2 sensor plugs directly into the ECU or if it plugs into some other harness first and is redirected there. Had some trouble trying to get this out of the wireing diagram. O2 has a single wire connector to the engine harness
|
Yes, Roger what Vosko said.
Don't you have a wire hanging by the firewall with a single connector on one end?? Or did they just rip the whole thing out?? Tom |
