Here's the deal. I have a 94 auto. I don't want to modify my car a whole lot, but I do want more reliable power. My engine is being rebuilt right now so I have time to think abou this. Also money is an issue since my rebuild and other is costing close to 4 g's so far right now, so I would want a unit(used of new) for 500 or less. I already know I can get the pfs pmc tune and installed because my mechanic as experience with them. So what other options do I have that will do everything the pmc will do or more for the same price? Appreciate any comments.

Swap to manual while you are doing it.

Then you can run whatever computer you want. Will the PMS even work with the auto? most aftermarket ECU's will not.

If you get the unit used at a good price and it is pink 9 you will be in great shape. That unit works excellent on autos. Also if it is not pink 9 you can send it to us and we will update it to pink 9.
