What I need to do is piggy back the OMP circuit on a FD and see exactly what it does at different RPM's and loads. Is it simply RPM sensative or does load come into play?? If it is a simple RPM sensitive setup it should be easy. I just need to know exactly what kind of signal it is looking for.

You can adapt an 87-88 TII oil metering pump to the FD front cover. I know quite a few people who have done it.

and on the 89+ fc they replace the omp rod holder with a spacer, so you can retro fit if you want to

I'm a fan of pre-mixing. The interior of the motor stays so clean without all of that sludge.

I agree motor oil isnt really intended to be burned. If you look up a couple of posts you will see there is a devise that can give you the ability to run your pre-mix oil through your OMP. I have already made a 1 quart holding tank for this and as soon as I figure out the OMP signal I will be running the 2 cycle oil through the OMP.

Until then I will be premixing.
