Hey guys, its almost that time where i buy my new ECU. And im looking for a good programmable one, and my best choice right now is the haltek. However, i was reading that if im running a haltek than i wont pass emissions. Is that true? If so, what would be a good alternative? Washington doesnt have real tough regulations, but they do have them. For emissions I would put the stock exhaust system back on to eliminate problems from there. So what do you think? Its got to have a fuel managment system, preferably a boost controller, etc... basicly im looking for the haltek that will pass emissions easily.

if that makes sense.

Anyways... yay to me! My HKS turbo timer is in the mail and soon to be at my door!

What kind of car? None of the standalones are "legal," but you can lean things out enough to pass a test.

The Haltech is probably the cheapest of them all. It's a nice unit, but it would most likely require you to have 2 maps, one for emissions and the other for performance.

The OEM ECU's try to do the best to meet both of these requirements.

Supposedly the new Greddy Emanage is "programmable," but I don't know how much you can change with it.

It seems like a pretty good unit. The price can't be beaten for what you get. Dale Clark said that you can reprogram it for bigger injectors, which is a GREAT feature.
