Hey guys, its almost that time where i buy my new ECU. And im looking for a good programmable one, and my best choice right now is the haltek. However, i was reading that if im running a haltek than i wont pass emissions. Is that true? If so, what would be a good alternative? Washington doesnt have real tough regulations, but they do have them. For emissions I would put the stock exhaust system back on to eliminate problems from there. So what do you think? Its got to have a fuel managment system, preferably a boost controller, etc... basicly im looking for the haltek that will pass emissions easily. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png if that makes sense.
Anyways... yay to me! My HKS turbo timer is in the mail and soon to be at my door! Thanks yo! B) |

The Haltech is probably the cheapest of them all. It's a nice unit, but it would most likely require you to have 2 maps, one for emissions and the other for performance.
The OEM ECU's try to do the best to meet both of these requirements. |

What kind of car? None of the standalones are "legal," but you can lean things out enough to pass a test.

Supposedly the new Greddy Emanage is "programmable," but I don't know how much you can change with it. |

The price can't be beaten for what you get. Dale Clark said that you can reprogram it for bigger injectors, which is a GREAT feature. |
so if i get a haltek and a map that leans the fuel/air with the stock exhaust, think i could pass emissions? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
cause i would really like the haltek |
