I ran my 88 NA for the first time last night at Island Dragway in NJ. Just like my 86 did, terrible wheel hop off the line and when shifting to 2nd!! I couldn't get traction at all. My best run was a 16.02 @ 86.83mp with a 2.39 60 ft. time. I tried launching at 2500,3000,3500, tried different shock settings in the rear and lower tire pressure.....just could not stop the rear wheels from bouncing. I stopped after 4 runs because I know the diff was getting killed!! Has anyone had the same problem?? What can I do to eliminate it?? (aside from not drag racing!) I was running street tires but this trait was the same on my 86 with drag radials that ran a 15.72 with a 2.2 60'. I know the NA's aren't meant for drag racing. I just wanted to see what it would do....looking forward to autocross this summer.

thanks, chris

Your differential mount may be going bad. You could try welding a piece of steel to the subframe and differential mount.

ok this may not make sense but your not launching high enough launch at 7000 rpm and you will get NO wheel hop. make sure your rear shocks are set to full soft you can set your fronts to midway. this has proven the best combination for me. in my TII i have gotten 2.00 60ft's a few times. i am going to englishtown tomorrow if you want some pointers ??

I had the same problem, my right transaxel was coming out of my differential, had it replaced and it went away.

Thanks for the help guys.

Vosko, I was going to go to the Etown event too but I don't have enough practice with the 7 yet and I don't feel like driving an hour and a half to get eliminated in the first round of bracket. I go every year to the survival series and Sat. night points racing, etc but I've been running Hondas for years. How big was your class? It should be interesting running in the 6cyl. class this year. I'm surprised as hell you would get 2.0 60's launching at 7k but whatever works.... Are you running street tires?

Let me know how you did and the other FC's (if any showed up).

thanks
