Helmet? Hmmmm..... They never told me anything when I went. Those are very good times though!!

LannyRX7 03-27-2003 11:24 PM

Yea they got rules for safety items as your time gets lower. break into the 13s and you have to wear a helmet.... never gotten past the 13s (hopefully this weekend, if I can afford to even go) so don't know the rest of 'em. I never actually wear the helmet though.. I just keep it in the car.

Matter of fact last time I went I didn't bring mine... so some chick in a 13 sec M3 Roadster let me borrow hers...needless to say her head was way smaller than mine. She was cool as hell though.

what about yokohama A032R's? i know they are meant for auto-x n stuff.. but can they offer anything for drag racing?

vosko 03-28-2003 12:17 PM

you can use them for drag racing but a drag radial is much better

im scared to break something https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif whats the best way to warm them up correctly, and what psi should be in them?

vosko 03-28-2003 12:41 PM

you don't HAVE to warm them up. i am beginning to advise slipping the clutch..... so that you don't break anything. unfortunately i have to do the same if i expect to drive to and from the track

rx7machine 03-28-2003 04:54 PM

Yea, that's one thing that scares me too.. breaking something.. like an axle.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png but if you just start slipping the clutch instead of dropping the clutch, there will be more wear on your clutch.. espically if you have an OEM clutch. right?

vosko 03-28-2003 05:07 PM

your gonna burn up the clutch but you can still drive home on a burned clutch https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
