Well the UIM, TB is off. **** was it a pain in the ass to get your hand under there to pull hoses, clips and such off. Just by taking a quick look i found one broken check valve and one line pulled off so far. Havent even checked for splits and cracks yet.

Now I just have to wait for the silicone to come in.

nismo convert 02-14-2005 11:39 AM

the motor has a some crazy super light weight flywheel

Shawn,

Now that you're there, are you going to change your FPD and FPR? If so you might want to place an order now just incase it has to come from the US.

Mazdabation 02-19-2005 09:44 AM

Went out and bought a Miata thermoswitch yesturday, so ill be doing that. Will also do the Fuel Pulsation Dampener (FPR) along with the boost solenoids. What is the FPR though?

nismo convert 02-20-2005 01:42 AM

FPR is fuel pressure regulator

of and i got my car LIT today, i'm so ******* happy!!!!

don't forget about the "o" rings

Mazdabation 02-22-2005 12:01 PM

Holy ****, the freakin FPD is $145 from Mazda!!!

Ok now stop leaving me in the dark, what O ring are you talking about?

mr.zoom 02-22-2005 01:46 PM

I can't recall if the o-rings were included with the FPR and FPD. When you go to the dealer they could print out the area where you need to install the part to see what comes with it.

I just read in the other forum that you can use the thermo switch from an FC. Straight plug in unlike the miata. So read up on it and return this switch for FC switch.

Mazdabation 02-22-2005 11:07 PM

That was done the other day, already returned it. I had to order the FC one though so ill have to wait on that.

mr.zoom 03-02-2005 08:38 AM

well did you finish?

Mazdabation 03-02-2005 11:48 AM

Nope, still waiting on the silicone. I have to go pick it up at my US shipping addy.

Mazdabation 03-05-2005 09:20 AM

Well the silicone came in and i picked it up yesturday, time to get to work. UIM and **** is off, now im starring into a web of "Ohhhhh ****!!! Hell no...." lol

TYSON 03-06-2005 09:44 AM

Motor is together. Oil pan is still off due to no super goop on hand to seal it up. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

TYSON 03-06-2005 09:42 PM

I saw some solenoids at Princess Auto, so don't get too excited if you break one. They were $2.19 for a pair! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

They look exactly like the FD ones.

You think you're n trouble... I'm still taking body work off the car. Should go out for paint this week... It is going to be a thrash to get it all back together!

Cheers! 03-08-2005 11:39 AM

I'm reassmebling the rear part of the car, new bushings for everything related to teh rear (subframe, trailing arms, new bearings, new everything).

Will be corner weighting the car end of March. Will be doing a dyno power to determine HP for SOLO1 classification mid April.

CASC SOLO open house is April 3rd at CSC racing in new market. I will be there registering.

TYSON 03-08-2005 11:44 AM

Which club have you joined? There will be a few at the open house you can join, including WOSCA this year. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

At the London location they were in the aisle with relays and car stereo connectors, etc.

Mazdabation 03-08-2005 12:49 PM

Are you serious about using these? They will work like the OEM ones? How do i know they will hold up or perform the same as OEM. Would they have to have a flow rate etc?

TYSON 03-08-2005 12:54 PM

Have you seen the little Mitsubishi symbol on the black caps over some of the ones you have?

These have the same thing.

The connectors even look the same.

You might want to check the electrical resistance of the coil before you wire them up, but that's about it.

If you don't know anyone in them already it doesn't make much difference.

Here's the list

You can see who is the most active in SOLO I by the discussion board.

TYSON 03-09-2005 01:45 PM

PS

I think WOSCA is one of the cheapest for membership fees at $35, and you get a $10 discount per autocross once you're a member.

dave from HADA?

i thought all clubs were 50 bucks.

TYSON 03-09-2005 04:41 PM

All clubs set their own fees.

There will be a few you can join right at the open house. Marshall and I volunteered to represent WOSCA there, but there might be a couple others.

Of course our meetings are all in London and our autocross events are in Woodstock so coming out to meetings would be a real pain for you. But a more laid back bunch you're hard pressed to find.

Not many SOLO I competitors from WOSCA. We get quite a few people from Toronto that join because they like our autocross events and like to take advantage of the discount.

well there are 3 i'm considering.

St. lac, PMSC, and WOSCA... St. lac because i used to hang out with them when i was in kingston. PMSC because James Mewitt with the other S5 TII is there, and WOSCA because I know you.

Else i'd just sign up for MSOC in mississauga, but they dont do anything other then atuox at hershey centre

TYSON 03-13-2005 10:01 AM

ok... May 4th is SOLO1 school day. You better have your car done by May 2nd, 2005. I'm pretty sure you will need atleast a bare min of 2 days to sort through problems.

Car is at birchmount for paint. Should have it back by next week! I've got to finish filling the headlight washer holes on the bumper. Final sand tonight, and it's all done! Then a 2 week thrash to get it all together, and we're set!
