O well wanted to add: would it be a better idea to maybe fork out some more $$$ for a car with slightly more (like 10k more) on a reman that had more stuff replaced, in comparison to one that had an almost fresh rebuild/reman with no other mods. All assuming that the chasis miles are around the sam 70kish.

Those are very specific mods and probably very specific cars.

FWIW, I drove a Reman'd FD with a bit more chasis miles than my current car. It idle'd, drove, looked, felt almost 40-50% worse than my 94 with 56k all original.

I just like the piece of mind that comes with a car that hasn't had its private parts felt up, yet. I'll get to do that myself.

I don't think you can go wrong with a $12-14k medium mileage, all original 94+. So, it may need a motor soon, but you pay to play...and play it just right.

Anytime I doubt/read into the BS about Rotary's...I just think of my other options.

What else are you going to buy for $12-14k that's a light, BEAUTIFUL, turbo'd car that amazes you looking from the drivers seat, looking at it as you walk up to it, as you gas it, as you brake, as you turn, etc. Rare to boot...?

Right. Nothing.

Oh, so yea, you can only edit a post SOON after you post it, thanks for the compliment, and my last advice is to actually drive those two cars and see what you think.

I guess the sad thing is the only 94s near this area going even near that price are autos.

This is what I did not want to hear...how the hell did that happen?

So what would it take...$2.3k for a reman? maybe $700 for labor?...sooo 3k?

Umm... try... $5k. My bill was $5200 with a new AST and a new clutch along with my reman.

I'd say at this point I wouldn't even consider an FD without a reman. Mine car had a pedigree and reciepts dating to '95. Every oil change, every weird noise, every tune up was done by a certified rotary tech. Then something happened.. We still don't know what! Well, it was an apex seal, but we didn't know why.

Bought my 2nd FD for 14k and it had a fresh motor/tranny/turbos/clutch/paint/rims. So you can find a deal.

Rare at times though, I've had the urge to cop out and just get a damn auto and suffer the drivetrain loss for like...a massive price cut...o well let the search continue, nothing will keep me away from a 7.

No. No. Don't get an auto. This isn't a drag car.

This will be one of the funnest cars you will be able to afford your whole life more than likely, so be patient, look hard, and get ready to jump on the first good deal that comes along.

What's your price range?

at first it was like 12k once I saw that crazy priced one and believe I could duplicate that price with other people. Then I figured out these things go out like hotcakes at such a lower price and moved it max 15k.

15k, I thought was enough...but recently it seems like 17k would be more like it. I think it's the lack of options I have in the area, seems like if it comes down to it there's alot around 400 miles away from me.

Yea anyways, I would probably say 15k max.

Yeah, distance driving is a bitch when getting one of these things. We went all the way to Memphis Tennessee to look at one that had just been killed. It had vacuum hoses popped, interior was shredded, exterior was rusting...it was just terrible. Then we went to Orlando (7-8 hour drive) and found the one that's now sitting in the garage. It was very near perfect and drove like a dream. Only that made the trip worth it, if we'd gone back home again empty handed because the car just wasn't up to par, the drive back would have been another sad one indeed.

FYI, $15k is a very good cap. If you would get over how far you have to travel, you'd undoubtedly have an FD by now.

Seriously, it's worth it. This isn't an integra, its a car released 3 years with only 14,000 manuals ( i think ) made.

I live in NY and was trying to limit my search to the NE (From Maryland to Maine) and found one. If I found the right one, and it was in FL/Tx/SC/AL, etc...I would have went.

Your price range is fine and you're gaining some good knowledge from the forum, now you gotta travel bud! Good luck.

Yea, I just find it to be a bitch to find a car 300 miles+, maybe it was good maybe not, then have to drive down (to get a loan) then go back up. I guess a solution is to just try to get the loan in the imidiate area. I def will travel then I guess. I planned a 80 mile run Sat...I'll see what happens.

94 Touring Red on Tan 64k on body with 6k on reman w/ new wires, plumbing, suspension and clutch work?(Did not want red that much or tan, but I know someone that can paint it for me). Of course seats are alot, once again I may have a hookup to get certain seats at wholesale price. Price for the car seems pretty good even if it didn't have the reman. Let's hope this is the one.

Thanks for all the tips.
