I'm set to get into serious purchase of a Rex. From what I've read over the past few months...most rex's with moderate care usually die/fail around 70k-100k miles and with luck some have hit into the 110k-120k on original motor.

Is getting a Rex that is nearing the 100k really worth it? I mean the prices flux alot due to whatever, but certain ones with that high mileage seems to be kind of a rip. It's like you would need to have atleast a sidepot of 3k for a new engine or whatnot.

I guess what I'm asking is, personally would you rather get a 15k RX-7 that has around mid 70k miles or 13k for a RX-7 with mid 90k miles. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

I bought my 94 for 13,500 with 55k miles and it's still going at 85k miles, but my compression has dropped and anytime now my apex are going to give out

I guess I'll fork more money for the lower miles, I need the damn thing to last atleast a couple of years without needing a rebuild. Thanks for the input.

If you are looking at a 3rd gen i would lower the miles significantly, if you are looking at a t2, I would lower them just a bit and if you are looking at an NA, I would raise them LOL both my first gens got close too or over in one case 200,000 miles.

I'm just sad that there was a 1993, Vintage Red, 72k miles, 5-speed, within 30 miles of my house for only 12k......by the time I called it was goooonnneeeeee. I'll never find that deal again. BTW it was clean.

I highly doubt I'll find anything near that price in socal...everything tends to be jacked up. If I could get a 94 with 55k miles for 13.5k I would def jump on it.

i bought my fd for 18k 4 years ago with 48k original miles. Blew up within a month.

get one with "high" for a low price with good exterior interior. the money you saved from the higher mileage go and get a reman installed.
