I was wondering what i should be using to replace all my vacuum hoses in my 3rd gen rx7? i've heard silicone hoses and nylon tie wraps, can these hold up to the heat? what companies are good to buy from and how much do i need?

Gotham Racing has a complete Hose Technique's silicon kit for the FD. It will cost you $130.00 though. Here's what it include's -

SVH Kit contains 40 feet of 3.5mm (all small solenoids)

15 feet of 4.0mm (Windshield washers and boost controllers)

16 feet of 6.0mm (larger air lines on engine)

4 feet of 8.0mm (larger air lines on engine)

and SuperCutter, SuperSlitter, & 120 Zip Ties.

I used the hose techniques kit and so far I've been happy. Some folks say you should just use rubber hoses. Just be careful that you cut your silicone hoses very cleanly so the ends don't split and make sure you don't kink them.

it costs more but i use viton hoses. they are much more resistant to tearing and abrasion, and to oil and gas. you can get it from http://mcmaster.com. and for zip ties use heat stabilized nylon ties.

I used silcone tubing(www.mcmaster.com), and nylon ziptiies over three years ago. The hoses are still in excellent condition, and I saved money over buying any kit. If I'm not mistaken I paid a little over 60 on the hose, and 10ish for a craftsman handicut tool. Buy the tool, and a little more hose than you absolutely need.
