What about the IC SR Motorsports had for sale for a long time?

SR Motorsports IC

Not trying to detract, but don't know that we can credit you with bringing it to the states...

That one is the HMIC. It comes with no duct and radiator is still at the stock position so the hot air from the radiator is blowing right at the intercooler. It's the worst intercooler you can get. It's like having a SMIC without a duct.

I know. Isn't that all nice and shiny? Don't you wish you have it on your car? hahha. Anyways, I drove my car for like a mile just to see how it runs. The vacuum is kind of low, only 8 in-Hg. I wish Aktins did not send me another weak *** motor. I am going to use my digital compression tester to test the compression on Wednesday. I am going to have my own V mount intercooler part done this Saturday and the V mount on my car will be back to its original owner, that is YOU. =). You got the email I sent you?

What is with that price?

It is only a freggin IC core and some end tanks.

Parts for intercoolers are cheap so why the large markup from everyone?

I found those with a quick search, I am sure that if I kept looking i could even find some more..

It seems like which ever core is more free flowing would get the bulk of the air, since air takes the path of least resistance wouldnt the rad, IC, and intake all be fighting over the same air. With a good smic there is a duct that is forcing the air thru the core no matter if it want to go or not.

Shouldnt the V mount have some type of "duct" like a divider that "tracts" the air to each section so that its basically forced to take that route instead of the path of least resistance.....which is prob around the sides.....or if there is a blocker on the side the least resistant path would be the most free flowing core I'd imagine.

I'm not discrediting or anything, I'm just asking. I made my own IC which was 100% designed by me and I thought of doing the V mount. I decided to not go with the V mount for these reasons, but its not like I ever tested it. It was just based on theory.

thats the only downside I have seen with them, spendy. Another good reason to get them is, no hacking of car's frame, less IC piping. But doesn't look as "cool" as a FMIC. But it also clutters things up a lot under the hood.

Yes I do wish it was on my car, I'm getting really anxious now. Yeah I got the email, thanks for the update. Was the BOV working?

all in all beautiful. i saw the vmount on a certian orange rx7 when my car was/is in for work. looks like a great idea and all. about ducting the air, why not buy / build a v mount and the make your OWN duct? shaped like the ic duct on the wrx but larger and in a different place. that would force 100% of air into the radiator, or ic depending on how you build the duct ( upside down for the ic )...

id bet itd look crazy too, even more so than it does already ( looks like you can sleep in between rad and ic almost with all the space )
