Hmm, it's going to be hard. You've definitely got the right connector- red is for up and green is the line for down. Obviously when you did your test with the test battery you had +ve on the red and -ve on the green?

While you're at it, put your voltmeter across the two contacts in Ohmmeter mode (test the resistance). If it shows very high (greater than 1000 ohms) or open circuit (0 ohms), then your motor is u/s.

In terms of getting the window up in this case, you'll have to try to remove the lot and do it manually.

The workshop manual has the instructions (page S-10). It's really just a matter of disassembly and wriggling. Apparently the window has to be 20mm down from the top for removal. Don't know how you'll do cos I haven't taken mine out so far!...

The workshop manual is online too at iluvmyrx7. Well worth having if you don't already. (Section S or "body" has the instructions...)

Good luck- I'll be thinking of you as I'm pulling my motor out!

Thanks for the pointer--hopefully it'll still work with no way of getting it anywhere near the top. At least I know which bolts to remove and which to leave alone to give it a try, now. Maybe if I still can't do anything with it and haveta take it in to a shop they'll give me a discount on labour for already having it apart
