Just wondering how to remove the power window regulator(motor)

from the door itself, without damaging the glass?

The window mechanism when would fully up makes a clunking noise,

presumably the cog thingy slipping on the beaded cable? It does this

whenever there is a 'load' on the mechanism.

Any ideas?

you need to unbolt the glass from the regulator, you can see one of the screws in the picture, and then unbolt the regulator and it comes right out
