LOL! Back from the dead! Hell yeah there are updates - I installed mine, and after a bit of re-milling on the side brackets, it slipped right in. Vibrates the hell out of the car at first, but after a few weeks it was unnoticable. I don't think I've ever felt shift gates so tightly engage. With the C's short throw shifter, my FEED engine torque dampner and this solid transmission brace, there's a huge difference in the feel of the car. I'd recommend it even in spite of the increased noise and vibration, which is usually shunned in a street-car.

I don't know about all that. I installed one the year before last. It about rattled my teeth out. I did not notice any "signifigant" improvement in my driveline, shifting or otherwise. At the time I was using only an engine torque brace and mazdaspeed shifter. I took it off after two weeks becasue i didn't see the benifit outweighting the obnoxiously loud rattles that it created. Since then i got some urethane motor mounts and those caused some slight rattles that did dissipate after a week or two. I could see the benefit of bracing and stiffening the entire chassis in purpose built race cars. My personal opinion is that the tranny brace on a street driven car is pretty pointless as the gains are minimal while the noise increase is signifigant.

i specially ordered rubber washers to prevent the vibrations., they are made of viton so the transmission wont melt them.. and the rubberman i was talkin to assured that the rubber will absorb a lot of vibrations. ask zach about them. i have also sold to other members... dont know if they all have installed them yet

Sorry to hear you didn't have as much luck with the brace, I suppose it depends on your current level of driveline support. Maybe you're was already tight.. Mine was original with new OEM motor mounts - the shifting changed from *smoosh, smoosh* to *ca-chunk, ca-chunk*.

I noticed the most improvements in the shifter after the torque brace and a mazdaspeed shifter. I even hacked an extra 1 1/2" off that shifter to make it even shorter. So now it's maybe 5" tall total off the console. Just enough **** left for the palm of my hand. Don't be sorry for me

I had a tranny brace for a while too. I took it off and installed those rubber washers I got from FikseRxSeven. Even after that it still vibrated too much for my taste. The slight improvement wasn't worth it to me either.



I've got the Garfinkle torque brace, new OEM motor mounts, and the Dragon diff brace now and I like it. With all that, the tranny brace was overkill...
