after getting throughly pissed when i blew a cap on the upper intake two days ago which resulted in me missing one of the best weather days chitown has to offer, i am once again pissed...

first off, the motor has been ported etc etc ( not stock i figure... ) and i run a pfc as most people do that like gizmos in their cars... the car is getting about 100miles a day to break it in as fast as possible. I changed the oil at 200 with 20w50. redline is now set at 5k rpm, and my car sees boost of about 5-8 every so often, with 780miles sence rebuild...

i was about 30 miles from home and i notice my idle jumping again ( ticked me off about my "leak" a few days ago ) so i was freaked about another problem under the hood. i opened the hood (duh) and i heard a ticking noise... the idle does not ALWAYS jump, now goes from 1000-1400 when it does jump up and down.

what would be making the noise and possibly causing my idle to jump up and down? am i due for another breakdown of the uim again? (i seem to have gotten quite good at it)

The ticking maybe one of the trailing spark plug wires not fully contacting either the coil or the spark plug(had this happened to me before).

the lumpy idle could be because the car is still in idle learn mode....best way to fix this is to let it idle...and idle...and idle...seriously.

Those are just relays turning on and off, totally normal.

Dude you have 780 miles on that car the enginen is about as broke in as it is gonna get.

You guya baby your cars way to damn much. I know guys who boost them up as soon as they are reinstalled after a rebuild and they are fine..

Boost that thing already.
