Last night on my way home I decided to have a little fun. I usually don't take the car up very high often, but I was feeling froggy. flooring in what I wanna say was 3rd gear it started to break up at 5500-6000 RPM. It sound like I was hitting a rev limiter. It didn't drastical slow the car down, but it did stop pulling. I have a new motor with about 4000 miles on it, all the basic bolt-ons except intercooler, and I have a pre-programmed ecu set for all bolt-ons and 14lbs of boost. I'm only running stock boost on a non-seq set up. It was a cool 73 degrees at about 11:30 at night. Could it be too much fuel (I know I'm on the Rich side of things) or not enough fuel (unlikely). I've floored it before and taken up higher without any problems. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Try some new plugs, it will help some...but chances are if it is breaking up that bad in the higher rpms (read more boost) on cooler nights more often then on regular nights.....I would say you are leaning out. Colder air is denser air....denser air means more air.....more air without more fuel....means leaner burn. New plugs though should help clear alot of that up....depending on how old yours are.

But that's just my guess on the problem. What size injectors are you running for 14psi? If stock....get some larger ones, if you got larger ones, hook that girl on a WB and find out your exact conditions...never assume you are rich....lean or rich, FD's always smell like gas and people always think they are rich.....especially if you have a MP.

I'm only running stock boost. It's just the ecu is programmed for 14lbs. The spark plugs were replaced about a month ago (1000 miles). Thanks for your help!

Today, I was getting on it a bit. I did a 2nd gear pull and it started stuttering at 5k. But in 3rd girl I took it all the way to 7k and no stutter at all. I did notice when I was doing my 2nd gear pull the oil pressure was getting dangerously high but in 3rd it only crept a little higher then average.
