I'm sort of fucked when it comes to porting. We have to pass emissions here so is there a sized port that will still allow me to pass emissions while giving some reasonable power over stock ports?
Srce, I have seen a BRIDGEPORT pass emissions. Like I said, it's all about tuning. If you run 13.7 a/f at idle, you'll be fine. And anybody that says that's too lean, if you've never done it...don't talk. I run 13.7 a/f below boost. As soon as I hit 0 psi and am out of vacuum, I'm at 12 a/f immediately, and from there...11.2 and below once I'm deep into the boost.

As soon as my AAA membership kicks in.

its down to PFS or Reactive. Just haven't called

RR yet.. WIL be doing that later today to see if

Dee wants the work or not...

Sean, I like non-seq but peter does not offer ot too customers. He is old school I guess. Anyhow the reason I told you to get a mana motor is due to the fact that you get a warranty with it. Race ported motors have no warranty. So that is that good luck.

Ryan is that you??? Don't use DBAR anymore??

Hmm i forgot about that.. the Warranty issue with the motor.

SO what you guys think? Port it with NO warranty or NO port

with Warranty.. Hmmm hmmmm Hmmm Help i am so undecided. Any input is welcome.......

How I blew my motor...

Well Last summer I basically raced it all summer long.

No problem no issue everything was Gravy...

One cool night on the way to work... I was just

minding my own business on the highway, going

maybe 65 mph... Then I come up to some jackass

going like 45, causing traffic. Then i find myself

kinda blocked it.. So I got pissed. BTW I was in 5th gear.

So I just kinda HIT it in 5th gear to pass this numbnut..

Then I heard the PING, then the car sounded like the exhaust

fell off, smoke and was barely staying alive...

She limped to where I parked her, and hasn't

started since...

I had 135k miles on original motor so it was due...

but now I am ready to bring her back to life,

and really pimp her out.

WEll Sean, you can still make good power without porting it. But if you are gonna be serious about going fast you should port it. I would take into consideration the tunning that will be needed.

If you are confident that it will be done properly then I would go ahead and port it. Honestly i know of a ceratin someone who got around a mana engine warante. Cough cough rikki

I personally say port it and go big but Im not your accountant either, casue if you blow it. You will have to at the very least pay someone to open it, inspect it and put new seals in a reassemble (if the rotors and housings dont get fucked up) Hell I could help you with that. If Rikki managed to assemble mine it can't be that bad.

Its your call, but if it were me and I had the cash I would take it to PFS and tell them to port it. Did they say weather or not Ray or Peter would tune it for you? I don't know if that is part of the install ( setting you up with base maps) But you need to find out caus eif it isn't tuned your just gonna be throwing cash out the window. Just ask that DJ McCuwin.

where are you getting the work done at?

Rotorsports ported my motor, and still gave me the 12 month, unlimited mileage warantee.

Yea I understand.

That TUNING is the most important thing..

See if I take it to PFS and they do the work..

I do not know if they are able to tune a PFC

as well as they do their Purple box...

I talked to Rikki, and he said that they can tune it.

and I asked if they had Data loggit.. and they didn't.

So not sure how they would tune it properly or not.

Anyone have a APEX Power fuel controller, that has been

tuned at PFS?? (peter farrell)??

Because other than DEE at Reactive racing, there isn't anyone

else reputable that knows how to tune PFC's around here.

Errr my AAA membership kicks in tommorrow, so I got 100 mile tow, for FREE and ready to get the FD fixed..

So guys, give me some insight before I drop the Hammer.
