I just put a rebuilt engine into a third gen. it fired up great but when ever i whould built up any pressure from the turbos i would get this screeching noise from the engine. the noise would go away after pressure dropped and would run fine again. the ideal is at 850 rpms and is a little rough.

the sounds is coming from the turbo and intake manifold area. the only mods are a downpipe, upgrade intercooler and a apec boost contoller. if any one has any ideas please write

One of your couplings from your turbo to your throttle body is loose. I accidentally forgot to tighten down one of mine and it made the same noises...kind of a weird elephant mating call sound...very "weird" sounding...

 

that would expain the 100 to 200 increase in rpm ideal but i swear its come from some where in the turbo or surge tank. i first hear the sound coming from the footing from passengers side right next to the ecu. used a scope and tracked it down some where from the surge tank or turbo area. it would also make sense that since all of that is together that the sound could be coming from a loose connectin from the turbo to intercooler piping. the sound is loud like a screeching/ buzzing noise.

i would welcome anyones thoughts on the subject

i was gonna say any water on the belts will do this too. it sounds like that no what it is in your case
