Rpm High At Idle Still...
#1
So now after I got all the necessary parts to fix my air leak issue I started the car up and the idle is still over 2k and everytime I turn it off the brake pedal is really stiff and wont give til I turn the car back on. Dunno what the problem is at all. I'm now at a complete loss. All I wanted to do was change my wires and plugs...seriously...roar!

Why do I get a feeling it has something to do with my vaccum hoses? *cries* Check the vaccum hoses or sell the car? Hard choice hahahaha. Naw but man if it is im just gonna roll the damn car to my house and like wait 50 years til I build up enough motivation to do the rats nest...grrr.

All I did was change my spark plugs and spark plugs wires before this happened. I put all the parts back together and my cars RPM at idle would bounce from 2k-3k and go up to 5k then I realized that was cause my gasket was broken so I replaced it. My idle no longer bounces but it will not go below 2k unless I turn the A/C on then it will drop about 750RPM. I check the throttle cables and all on the top and nothing is stuck. Dunno what else could cause this cause there is no air leak anymore from the throttle body area and what not. Just a high Idle RPM. :-/

Also another thing and when I say this about my brake pedal it's cause it has never done this not cause it's normal. My brake pedal is really loose til a certain point then just stops and cant be pressed anymore. I tried reversing to see if my brakes work and they don't slow the car down they will only kick in when fully pressed and slam the brakes...so I'm starting to believe I musta hit some kind of wires when I was changing the plugs. Time to get my car on ramps again I guess.

do you have a LHD or RHD? I would check the o-ring behind the TB. if your car is RHD check the ABS wiring connectors. or if your car is LHD check the vac hose that goes into the drum.
check the surrounding area where you last work.
good luck.
