what does the rx-7 "R1" stand for :bigok: is it touring edition?

R1 is the race model. you can tell by looking at it. R1's have no sunroof, front and rear spoilers, 2nd oil cooler, no cruise control, no bose, bilstein shocks, suede seats.



touring has bose, cruise,sunroof,leather



most people will opt for the R1 but they are harder to find. it depends if you want options like sunroof etc etc.

i believe ,,... doesn't the R1 run 13.9 and the touring runs 14.0???

the actual driver of the car will make more difference than a touring or r1 on the track

Regarding drag racing - I've heard the auto's are a bit faster in the quarter mile. Also, Nick at N-Tech ran a 13.5 in a 100% stock Touring model...

holy $#@! 13.5 stock. ahhhhhhhh!!! that's damn impresive and also more impresive with the AT tranny. heh heh

Autos are NOT faster, they tend to run about .5 sec slower.



N-tech did have a good run. I'm almost tired of hearing it.



Most FDs will run 13.8-14.2 stock.
