I finally got around to pushing the car out of the shop and trying to start it up. I spun it over last week, but didn't want to start it up inside in case it smoked a lot. However, IT WON'T START!!!!!! I even hooked up a jumper just to make sure it was spinning fast enough. When we put a guage up to it, the rotors barely moved the needle! Here is the thing, BOTH front AND rear are showing very low to no compression. This is odd...its rare for BOTH rotors to be shot. I'm thinking that maybe some how, the seals have ceased or carbonized, etc...I tried putting some ATF in it, but only for about 20min or so...just to see...still nadda. What are the chances that both rotors are shot..I visibly verified that the rotors had APEX seals when I got the motor in...so I know they weren't blown, but I dunno about there condition. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

That's jacked. Why did you have it apart in the first place. It would seem rare that both rotors go at once unless they carbonized or something.

I didn't have the motor apart...I just looked through the spark plug holes and manifold holes w/ a bright flashlight, lol..just to double check that all the APEX seals were still there...but like I said, this doesn't tell me what kind of condition there were in.

That's jacked so you just pulled it into the garage for a tune up and it died?

It's not flooded or anything is it?

It hasn't run yet, I've been doing the Jspec conversion for about a month now. When I finally did what I needed to do while a lift was free, I pushed it out of the shop, it didn't start...I am currently using an NA MAF not a turbo one..that may be one problem too.

Well, I haven't given up hope on this motor yet!!! I finally got in contact with the company I got the motor from, becuase I just don't believe that BOTH rotors could be blown! So I asked him what kind of preservatives or oils, etc in the motor to preserve it while it is out of the car...he told me that the Japanese vendors put a slimy black substance in the motor to seal off the motor from water vapor, build up, etc...he then told me to let some ATF sit for a while, spin the motor, sit, sping, etc..I've told you all about the ATF before...so anyways..once I do supposedly get this motor started, he told me it will be a while before the motor is at full compression again....so thats where I'm at!

A NA AFM WILL WORK ON A TURBO TO GET IT STARTED BUT NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BOOST.
