I'm not sure about the turbos (people DO usually overhaul them around 60k mi, I think.)

Could be a vaccuum leak. If the idle is steady. If you have a pro do this job (highly recommended) it will cost you anywhere between $45-$100 for parts (rubber or silicone hose) and about 10 hours of labor. If they break any solenoids, it will cost $75 a pop. Be prepared to spend about $1000 to fix vaccuum leaks.

I don't know about cheaper. I would rebuild the motor if I had the money. You'll have piece of mind knowing that you're car is working right from the ground up.

Correct me if Im wrong here.....

Are you sure the idle has not been wound up a bit to hold the idle high because it will not idle at lower RPM? If so then I think the motor has some serious issues. I watched a guy dyno tuning an FC till suddenly the motor refused to idle reliably below 2000rpm..... it had shat itself.

The turbos start smoking (in my experience) when they are on the way out rather than causing a high idle. IMHO you are better to ditch the twins if they are worn out and go single. My turbos lasted till 105,000km till they started smoking on start up, it is good to be rid of them.

A vacuum leak causing the engine to idle that high must be leaning it out quite a bit. I would think that in this situation you will be rebuilding the motor if you want to or not..cos its going to eat itself very soon.

I would check it out further before buying as a motor/turbo/hose job is gonna set you back some serious coin.
